Capturing candid, kind, and real moments you can truly feel
I’m a photographer with a passion for capturing love, joy and all the moments in between. As a queer person it is so important to me that everyone has the chance to be documented. I don’t just love capturing people but their stories too.

Why Sugar & Sand?
The name Sugar and Sand was born from my love of vintage movie stars and nature. Sugar is Marylin Monroe’s character in the film Some Like It Hot , a favourite film of mine since my gorgeous granny Pat showed it to me when I was 9 years old. I loved it so much that I named my first cat Sugar too! Representing my love and connection to nature and the earth is also incredibly important to me, hence Sand. However when I think of sand I don’t just think of the beach. I think of my feet planted in the earth, I think of the ocean’s power and the wind’s wildness, I think of how lucky I am to be a part of something so beautiful and to never take that for granted.

What drew you to photography?
I first fell in love with photography when taking photos of my loved ones, and noticing all the details that go missing when you don’t take a minute to pause. To me, photography is more than just taking beautiful pictures, it is capturing the feeling of a moment and immortalising it. It is creating family heirlooms that future generations will look at and connect with, the same way I connect with my grandparents’ wedding photos. If you want timeless and meaningful photos then I might just be the photographer for you.
